Most of these pieces are 100% Lottie-friendly, that means that all of these animations are interactive and super lightweight. Meaning that they behave just like any other SVG or vector asset (like an image or an icon). In fact, they are just SVG/vector animations. 100% of these animations are made by me in After Effects. AE uses a plugin called Bodymovin’ for exporting the right file types for dev teams to implement using Lottie. Not familiar with Lottie or implementing animation into your UI? Let’s talk about it!
Ibotta Animated Ad
15-Second broadcast ad, 100% produced and animated by myself using After Effects and Illustrator.
Tab bar animation for Ibotta
We implemented this tap-feedback animation to drive delight in the experience, and give the product some more personality. As one IBM designer put it, “it’s like petting a cat vs. petting a cat then it purrs” or something like that. Basically, making the product more life-like increases the likelihood that the user and the product will have a more natural relationship. Fully made in After Effects with the Bodymovin’ export for Lottie.
Pay With Ibotta Congrats Animation
We implemented this congrats animation as a way to pay off users having completed a transaction using this feature at Ibotta. Doubling down on dopamine moments like this one intrinsically drives user retention by leveraging dopamine hits. Here’s a contract piece I made for a client, Amenify, to communicate their product to multiple audiences - investors, clients, potential-end users. 100% made by me in After Effects. I used a stock music library for the track and a freelance voiceover artist.
